JTECH’s software products are “licensed” products, like all software. When a Tracker system is purchased from JTECH, the buyer’s use of Tracker software is subject to the license. The license is not transferrable by selling the equipment. JTECH maintains records of our licensees to protect their interests in addition to JTECH’s and to comply with our licensing agreement with the American Medical Assocation . In order to provide registration codes, we must confirm that the individual or company requesting the codes is the legal, rightful licensee. This means that if a system is bought or sold used, our records (and our license agreement) will not reflect the buyer. The software (and license) is not purchased with the after-market equipment, and can only be transferred through JTECH. JTECH’s “license transfer” conveys all rights and privileges to the new individual, and we make sure this includes the latest software, technical support service, online training resources, and an option to recalibrate and recertify your JTECH hardware at no additional cost (repairs not included). The license transfer itself has a fee, and includes as much value as can possibly be built into the process and product. JTECH is 100% committed to honoring our software licensing agreements. If you have records to show that you were a principal party in the purchase of a Tracker systems from JTECH Medical, they may remove the need to relicense/transfer the software license. Documents showing ownership, partnership, or direct association in the purchase from JTECH are generally sufficient. We would be happy to work with you to help clarify this option.
